Okay, it’s MONDAY TIME!
The tour company for BDW’s upcoming tour made a lighting plot without me, and that has me somewhat annoyed. I wouldn’t be so ticked if they hadn’t proceeded to use it as a working plot, sending it around and using it for bids. If I’m hired to design the lights, I would really like to be in on the process of, ya know, designing the lights. Heck, even just letting me know that this was going to happen would have been nice. I suppose I can arrange the lights however I want – I’m not beholden to their plot. But I would like to be able to spec fixtures, and maybe get some different fixtures so it’s not all just moving lights all the time. Some blinders or ACLs would be nice, and I’m happy to knock off a mover or two to get some different stuff. Some audience LED stuff in particular.
Just got back from Canada. It was groovy. They have really big mosquitoes there that seem to be more adept at dodging blows than their southern cousins. Also, they are huge – my legs are covered with red welts from these suckers. At least the weather was pleasant – temperature-wise. We got rained out at the first show of the run, but the accompanying lightning show was nothing short of amazing.
What else? Redoing the lighting for “Easy on the Eyes” by Terri, gearing up for the aforementioned BDW tour, getting closer to finishing “Genome” by Ridley – currently trying to understand how imprinted genes escaping the demethylation of their cytosine prevents cloning of mammals using somatic cell nuclei.
Exit, stage left.
