Not Exactly Poetry

Posted on October 9, 2008 by sparky

A special gift for you! Piano music, arranged and played by yours truly. Please ignore the F natural that occurs at 4:22. (For those playing the home game, the song is “Oh Come, Oh Come Emmanuel”, circa 15th century.) Download here.

Anyways, the reason I’m posting this is to get feedback, particularly on the length of the arrangement and whether I should throw in more fluff, take out some fluff, throw in some more “jazzy” chords in the middle (to sort of act as a C section to the existing A and B sections), etc. This is my planned song for Celebrate Recovery when I visit this Christmas. Be snobby, criticize, etc. My feeling is that it should be a minute or two shorter – it’s currently pretty long at 6:40.

Also, the rest of the pictures from the latest gig are up.

Exit, stage left.
