It feel like looking back on a day at an amusement park – the time has gone so fast you’d swear you’ve only been there an hour, but the aching in your feet and bag of useless toys and funnel cake sugar on your shirt and the sinking sun say otherwise.
Things I’ve accomplished this year:
Knocked out another Terri Clark tour, refined my lighting style even further, established myself as the LD for Big Daddy Weave, completely lost my faith, drifted slightly more left of center, moved out from my first roommate situation, moved downtown, become at Mosaic almost exactly what I was at POG, not read overly much (but resolved to change that), learned to make new friends in some small way, decided that my first duty is to the people at concerts, and not cared about artist management.
Things I want to accomplish this year:
– Read more (On the list: Paine, Cicero, Herbert.)
– Get involved with another band, if even a small one, and knock out at least two tours.
– Run sound some more.
– Write down, in actual musical notation, (and not the chicken-scratched chord progressions and hastily-scrawled notation I tend to use) Emily’s Song.
– Play chess more.
– Practice my violin at least once per day for thirty minutes.
– Practice piano at least once per day for thirty minutes.
– Find and execute another volunteer opportunity.
– Build a flash module by myself, learning a bit about how to read electronic schematics along the way.
– Go on a date.
– Finally be able to finish somethi
Exit, stage left.
