Disturbing

My country used to condemn this, as any decent human being should. Not anymore. Xenophobia, fear, lack of accountability, and an the-ends-justify-the-means approach have gotten us to this:

To be sure, I think McCain would have been a far worse choice, but I am increasingly disquieted by the sweeping under the rug of the Bush-era war crimes (and that’s exactly what they are) and immunity given to those who were complicit in those crimes, and the punishment of whistle-blowers.

Sickening.
