Dreams

I've kept records for some time, and I figure this is a good place to post them. So here's a few for your consideration, and I will post any new one I have. I write these logs as soon as I wake up, the spelling and grammar are generally poor. (Since I'm going for the ability to remember and nothing else...because I want to get back to sleep!) These textfiles have been edited for spelling and a bit of punctuation and nothing else. Any errors have been intentionally left.

I vaguely remember three dreams. In the first, I kissed Danie, Kamper's girlfriend. I remember that I had to get down on my knees to reach her lips because she was so short. The second one involved my supervising the construction of an Adventureland-type theme park on my grandparent's farm. In the third, I had to reset some breakers in my old church, FCOB. They were large and multi-colored, and were in the 7th-grade classroom on the upper level. I think they were for lights. All these dreams were in a semi-conscious state as I tried to get back to sleep after waking up.

2004-5-20

I was having a dream where I could fly. All I had to do was flap my arms and fly away. It was dark, at a park that I'm familiar with but can't place. Lots of tall trees. I flew around , and landed under a small dirt dugout near a large oak, I think. There were two kids who were playing with some old computer that I thought WAS the tree. Anyways, I was sitting on a large wooden plank on the floor of the dugout who's sides extended up through the thin earthen "roof" above me, and every time I moved it wiggled. The kids, who seemed familiar, again, but I can't place them, were about 18-19 years old, and I knew that I didn't want them to find me. I'm not sure how I landed without them seeing me. There was a chain link fence around the park. Anyways, they were trying to get the old computer (I'm still a little fuzzy on the computer thing) working, and they didn't have any success. Since they were sitting right above my dugout, one of them reached down and felt around for the CPU (I think) and felt my face. I instantly bolted from the little dugout (Like the one I found in Ankeny near the playground off the bike trail, near the creek) and took off into the trees. I followed them as they walked dejectedly to the end of the street. As this was happening, the sun was coming up in a series of ridiculously brilliant colors, blue and pink and beautiful reds, swirling and bobbing through the sky, like a point of grace moving Edirol background. They walked on the sidewalk that reminds of N. James street, right before crossing 8th. I turned right at 8th, landing on that house with the bleeding heart flowers, except that it was colored blue and yellow. The sun was still coming up. The people in the house saw me on their roof, and started closing the windows, but I didn't stay long and took of towards where Lee's house is, except that it's my house from Ankeny. The boys turned towards my old Grimes house.

-then-

There was a series of underground tunnels that some women were chasing me through, because they wanted something that I was carrying. The tunnels were silver and blue in color. Andrea Stark was chasing me (Trippy!), but something happened that caused an injury to her right arm after we got to the main chamber. She was quite distraught, and it seemed that just then someone was looking for her, a mother figure, but the mother figure WAS Andrea. Duplicates, wee.

I also remember a sheriff driving a car. Very friendly. Night, and he was headed at a 90 degree angle to where the boys were heading. Looked a LOT like Gretchen's street.

And tonight's dream.

There was more to this dream, but I can only remember the last part.

I was in a hospital, dimly-lit, I think it was nighttime. I worked in the IT department and it was necessary for me to go into the "Infectious Diseases" department. This required me to don a weird suit for the upper torso made of plastic with a clear visor. It didn't fit to well, and for some reason I was only going to wear gloves when a small girl came out of the ward. Very friendly kid, but she wanted to hug me, which I was totally against, fearing some weird sickness from her. But a nurse standing there said it was okay, so I bent down and she hugged me like she hadn't had a hug in a long time. And then I was at church, at Celebrate Recovery, which I somehow knew was part of this hospital I was at. The sound booth was bigger than I remember, and a bunch of guys from CR were standing around in it, talking, including Don. I was trying to get the music rolling, and I solved some weird problem with the sound and had to switch to the next song, which involved a series of horribly complicated switches on the various control boards in the booth. It didn't work, and the music died. Don seemed mad, and was going to continue the service, but then he didn't seem to care a second later. I sat down at the laptop (I now realize that the sound booth was bigger both area-wise and general size. Somewhere in this dream I had shrunk down to the size of a midget, but other people seemed the right size in relation to me, and they seemed the right size in relation to the sound booth. Weird.) and started typing something. There was a fan by my legs, and it started making noises like somebody was sticking their fingers into the blades. Don immediately looked at me, but it wasn't me doing it, and I put my hands up as he moved the fan back to reveal two boys from the disease ward earlier. They wanted to stay, but Don decided that due to where they came from, they better go back. As they were leaving the booth, something very odd happened. My entire view went dark, something pulled me back, and started vigorously shaking my head, as if to rip it off my neck. Not shaking very far, mind you, but shaking it HARD. When I realized I couldn't move, I started violently struggling to get free, and woke up nearly sitting up in bed, and breathing rather hard.
