One From the Road, Three [updated]

San Francisco is weird. I won’t elaborate.

Tour is going well - everybody seems to be getting along well, which is great, though I think we’ll all be happy for a few well-deserved day off back in Nashville next week. I’ve learned that it’s important to keep myself occupied with lighting stuff, or I’ll start to get bored / fidgety and then I start bugging the monitor engineer. :)

Rumor has it that we’re going to be playing at the Grand Ole Opry on July 1st, which is going to be super-groovy. For those playing the home game, here’s a short preview of the Opry’s lighting equipment list:

12 Mac 2000 Profiles 14 Mac 2000 Washes 24 Mac 500s 12 Mac 600s 83 PAR 64s. (83? Why 83?)

…and lots of other conventionals, a few colors changers, some ACLs, etc. 2 DF50 hazers and 2 Jem Smoke (Oops, I guess Jem Smoke is now Martin Smoke. Whatev.) ZR24/7 hazers. An ETC Obsession II (The heck?) and a Hog II are the consoles. Yeah, I’ll take the Hog.

Hee. A boy could have fun with a lighting rig like that.

[update] Looks like I’m not running lights at the Opry that night. Sounds like it’s just going to be the production manager and tour manager, and the band. Yes, I cried. Bitter, bitter tears.

Exit, stage left. Sparks
