I swear to Eris, if I hear one more person pronounce the word "especially" as "eCspecially", I'm going to punch them in the face. There is no such word as "ecspecially". (Yet, search Google for this word and you will find it used without irony in many, many webpages".

It's pronounced "ESS-spesh-ally". There is no voiceless velar plosive in that word. The same goes for "espresso".

Another mispronunciation that makes me want to disembowel myself with a rusty spoon is pronouncing "escape" as "excape". The very sound of this horrific aberration makes me cringe with unmitigated anguish. Same thing pronouncing "ask" as "aks". An axe is a device used in chopping down trees. Do not confuse the two.
