Sleep would be a good thing.

mood: exhausted

music: The Passion of the Christ: Resurrection

:breathes a sigh of relief::

For the first time in a long time, I left church tonight not feeling like a total failure.

Today was a good day. Church went well, though I had more than my share of head-slapping "Duh" moments around Chris, which annoyed me. All the sound stuff went off pretty well...even Celebrate Recovery and it's plethora of Moronic People Who Can't Use a Microphone. The only problem was a buzzing mic, and that wasn't too big of a deal, even to the perfectionistic Morris.

The rest of the day was good, too. I brought some Oobleck for the kids to play with that I mixed up this morning. I brought it out during the service to show some of the adults. One of them, Tim Yates, mentioned that it was something only a six-year-old would enjoy playing with. To prove him wrong, I took the Tupperware container of the suspension over to another table of adults, showed them it's interesting properties, and they ended up playing with it for 10 or so minutes. :P Of course, the kids enjoyed it too, including Madison, the 8-year-old cutie who calls me "Mr. Scotty". Ahh, gotta love teaching kids obscure Trek references.

Kamper is coming back in a few weeks...before leaving for Iraq for a year or two. He's going to have so many people who want to see him, I'm rather worried that I'll only get about 10 minutes with him. My best friend gone for a year. I'm sure I'll be tempted on the 14th (When he leaves) to take a cue from Thim and go drinking. I'll certainly be in the mood to that night.

These last two entries have had an odd "rushed" feel to them...maybe I'm getting lazy. I might update them at some point in the future to a more "Sparky-style" of writing. Dunno.

Onward!
