The Sucking

This entry no longer reflects my views on politics in any way, shape, or form. Please be aware you're reading something I wrote when I was like...17. And didn't know any better.

mood: discontent

It's time for another episode of...

Presidential Stupidity 2k4!

In one corner, we have presidential incumbent George Bush, who in general, seems to enjoy the idea of screwing over everything that doesn't yet have some form of oil pump (Or some form of democracy, either will work.), and Kerry, who thinks that socialism is a good idea. A national healthcare plan? Ye gods. He should read "Faith of the Fallen" by Terry Goodkind. Socialism is theft, plain and simple. It's taking my money, which I worked hard for, and giving it to someone else who didn't work for it. Self sacrifice is the obscene and senseless suicide of slaves. (Perhaps I'll expound on this more later.)

Movin' on...

Church goes well. Some humorous situations with Chris and myself inspired me to create a few (Two, and the moment) comics about the situations, which were more or less accurate. Mostly less. If I had a scanner, I'd post them here, but I don't, so I can't. Celebrate Recovery was in the atrium of the building last night, necessitating the need for staging to be set up and cables to be ran. Of course, the vocalists didn't know the words to the songs, so they needed a video monitor. I was forced to take a scan converter and run the SVGA output from the computer into it, send the video feed from that to their monitor, and use the buffered loop-through to go to the video switcher to the projector. It was a nasty hack, but it worked the way I wanted it to.

About ten minutes before the service Pixel walked in, apparently forgetting his intense dislike of driving. Of course, he couldn't help but complain about the sound levels, but it was still quite nice to have somebody there. After service, Don Morris visited the console and pointedly mentioned a vocalist who wouldn't stay on his mic. (Even after the vocalist had been told, repeatedly, that this was necessary.) Of course, I stated that this was something I couldn't control, and he agreed. I like Don, but at the same time, motivation has difficulty thriving when the person running the show consistently _accentuates the negative_.

I'm applying at Mediacom today. The security company I work for finally ticked me off enough with this week's schedule. It's a hodpodge of second and third shifts - all of them at an account I hate. Another reason is church...they're moving to a Saturday night service, and asking for every Saturday off at a security company is the equivalent of taping a "Kick me" sign to your own back.
