So, I missed the 2007 Willow Creek Arts Conference. (Pictures available here and here.) This kinda sucks, as it was something that I was really looking forward to when I worked for PoG. (PoG sends it's creative staff to the conference, usually yearly. I don't believe they did this year because of the financial situation.) First off, the conference was somewhere where I was surrounded by people who did the same things that I did, and beyond that, it was a great chance to get away and see how other churches do things. It's really easy to get into a rut when all you see is your own work and your co-worker's work.

Also, their auditorium has some wicked cool technology.

It kinda makes me sad that I no longer work for a church. I enjoyed what I did at POG, when you take away the horrible leadership and abysmal internal workings. There's nothing quite like the feeling of turning around to see an entire congregation of people worshiping when you're at the helm of the lights or the sound. In fact, I'll be looking at churches in Nashville to supplement my income.
